Position: Banking Manager

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: Full-Time | May require up to 25% travel


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Coaching:

    • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Preferred Bankers, ensuring each team member effectively manages the full client life cycle.

    • Oversee the hiring, training, performance management, and development of the team to foster long-term career growth and exceptional service standards.

  • Client Lifecycle Management:

    • Act as a subject matter expert by supporting the team in resolving complex client requests and ensuring top-tier service delivery across all banking products including loans, treasury services, commercial and personal accounts.

    • Promote the “sales, service, operations” philosophy through client interactions and coaching.

  • Strategic Planning & Execution:

    • Create and execute business initiatives aligned with strategic goals using data analytics and client behavior trends.

    • Collaborate with the Preferred Banking Director and other departments to support the implementation of key change management processes and operational improvements.

  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

    • Distribute workloads efficiently across the team, monitor service delivery, and ensure productivity goals are met.

    • Provide regular reporting to management on key performance indicators such as turnaround time, risk mitigation, audit results, and client satisfaction metrics.

  • Product & Service Promotion:

    • Guide the team in identifying opportunities for cross-selling and upselling banking products and services through detailed client analysis.

    • Ensure the team maintains up-to-date knowledge of Western Alliance Bank product suite and applies it to client solutions.

  • Operational Risk & Compliance:

    • Ensure the team consistently meets compliance standards, risk management expectations, and regulatory requirements.

    • Monitor team activities for audit readiness and adherence to bank procedures.


What You will Need:

  • 6+ years of experience in Treasury Management Sales, Branch Banking Operations, or a related field.

  • Bachelor degree required (or equivalent work experience); degree in a business-related field preferred.

  • Prior leadership experience in a banking environment strongly preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge in deposit operations, new account processing, treasury management, and other commercial banking services.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed business and technical documentation.

  • Demonstrated experience in data-driven decision making and strategic implementation.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.
