Responsibilities:

• Program Operations Management: Oversee and administer program operations, ensuring that they run efficiently, effectively, and productively.

• Strategic Planning: Create and implement plans to achieve program objectives while aligning with the overall mission of the department.

• Compliance & Process Improvement: Interpret, implement, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations, recommending changes to procedures and processes when necessary.

• Data Analysis: Analyze data, identify trends, develop reports, and recommend and implement changes to enhance alignment with institutional goals.

• Outreach & Relationship Building: Develop and implement outreach plans that include relationship development, communications, event management, and conference coordination.

• Fundraising Support: Assist with fundraising activities and help cultivate relationships with internal and external entities to secure program support.

• Financial Management: Create budget plans, monitor and approve expenditures, develop reports, and conduct financial analyses while maintaining financial records.

• Expense Reporting: Manage Rice University purchasing card transactions, submit expense reports, and handle expense reporting for senior staff.

• Team Collaboration: Work with the team to foster collaboration and achieve Rice Alliance goals, adapting to changing activities and requirements.

• Other Duties: Perform all additional tasks as assigned to support program goals and departmental success.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree (additional experience can substitute for education)

  • 2+ years of related program management experience

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong data analysis skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under pressure

• Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional program management experience

  • Proactive, self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex tasks

  • Experience with project management software, MailChimp, and website content management
